Steam ID Formats: The Complete Guide
Every Steam account can be identified in multiple ways. Here is every format SteamIDBot accepts — and where to find each one.
SteamID64
76561197960287930The 17-digit numeric ID. This is Steam's internal identifier — every Steam account has one and it never changes. Most reliable format for lookups.
SteamID (Steam2)
STEAM_0:0:11101The legacy format from older Valve games like CS 1.6. Starts with STEAM_ and contains three parts: universe, auth server, and account number.
SteamID3
[U:1:22202]A newer, more compact format. Uses brackets with U for individual accounts. The number after the colon is derived from the SteamID64.
Vanity / Custom URL
gabelogannewellA custom URL name chosen by the user. Shown in the Steam Community profile link as steamcommunity.com/id/NAME. Case-insensitive and can change over time.
Full Profile URL
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960287930The full Steam Community profile page URL. SteamIDBot can parse the ID right out of the URL — just paste the whole thing.
Custom URL (full)
https://steamcommunity.com/id/gabelogannewellSame as above but uses a custom/vanity URL instead of the numeric SteamID64.
Friends/Add URL
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960287930/friends/addThe URL generated when you click 'Add Friend' on a Steam profile. SteamIDBot can extract the profile ID from this URL too.
SteamIDBot Accepts All of These
No need to convert between formats. Paste any of the above into any SteamIDBot command and it just works.
